Charlotte Headshot Photographer | Michelle

A Warm Charlotte Welcome

This was my first official (unofficial?) headshot portrait session in Charlotte, North Carolina since my transition out of Colorado. Dr. Michelle Donah was one of my favorite teachers from high school, so I was beyond excited when she inquired about headshots this summer. It was nice to just get to catch up with her about life, and I was honored to be able to be her Charlotte headshot photographer.

The reason she actually needed a headshot portrait session at the time was that she was in the process of publishing her book, entitled “Just in Case… School Sucks: Tools for Transformation”. Well her book was JUST recently released and I thought what better time than now to show off her beautiful headshot gallery and give her book a platform at the same time? So read about her book and see some of her images below.

(And check out the back cover photo from this session!)

A few words about her book:

I want teens to feel better about themselves and about school. I took the information I share in my consultations and made it accessible to everyone. Parents also learn a lot from this brief and fun read. In the first part, I discuss possible causes of “underperformance.”

In the second part, I provide a variety of tools that help students feel better and boost their performance. When they feel better, they do better, and when they do better, they feel better. After years of witnessing students literally suffer with poor performance and low self-esteem, I created a menu for them to choose options and bring out their best.

I love how refreshing her perspective is on teaching, and I am glad to have had her impact my own education in a direct way. I can’t wait to dive in and read it myself!
