As a Charlotte family photographer, I typically use locations very close to the downtown area or surrounding neighborhoods. For this session, I had the pleasure of shooting a ways down the road at Glencairn Garden in Rock Hill.
I’ve actually worked with Liza previously for her business headshots. This time, I had the honor of working with her and her sweet children! For their Spring family portraits we went to the gorgeous Glencairn Garnden in Rock Hill. When working with kids for family portraits, I take an intentional approach. My goal is to keep everyone happy, relaxed, and totally themselves rather than forcing too much posing. I throw in some games and challenges with prompts for them individually and with each other as a group. It’s my hope that they can look back on this session as a priceless collection of photos that capture who they are as a family.

At family photo sessions we focus on fun, connection, and creating real memories rather than just simply posing and smiling for the camera. I think this adds an important dimension to the experience and to the eventual printed heirlooms to kept around the home for years and decades to come.
