Rachael and her daughter were such a fun duo to have in front of my camera for this family photography session. I specifically wanted to focus on their bond and their candid interactions, so I encouraged a lot of games throughout the session. When working with toddlers especially, I like to allow the littlest to take control of the session. That way, we take breaks before tantrums come on, and we end up with laughing fits and amazing memories rather than tears and forced smiles and poses. Believe it or not, none of these poses were specifically placed or forced. I just set up the light, grabbed the right lens and angle, and encouraged them to be themselves.
