I’ve worked with McMillan PLLC multiple times over recent years as their Charlotte business has expanded. Each time we work together, I’ve captured headshots for their new hire(s) with a digital background. While the photoshoot takes place in the comfort and convenience of the studio, the final image will have an original environmental background.
There are many advantages to digital backgrounds over true environmental headshots–which would be taken on location, typically outdoors. Just a few of these advantages to digital backgrounds include:
- Customization and Flexibility: Clients can choose from a vast array of backgrounds to match their personal brand, industry, or desired image.
- Time Efficiency: No need to travel to an inconvenient location. Headshots can be taken in the comfort of my studio, or even the client’s office or home, saving time and effort.
- Consistency: Multiple headshots can maintain a consistent background, enhancing brand identity, even when the headshots are taken years apart!
- No Distractions: Removes unwanted elements from the background, ensuring the focus remains on the subject.
- Ideal for Remote Work: Perfect for professionals who work remotely or in various locations.
- Optimized Lighting: I have full control over lighting conditions, ensuring optimal lighting for flattering portraits, and avoiding unwanted color casts that are common outdoors.
- Comfortable and In Control: Indoor environments provide consistent lighting and temperature control, eliminating distractions caused by weather elements like wind, rain, heat, or cold. This ensures a more comfortable and focused photoshoot.
