How to install your presets
If you were sent a file by EMAIL, skip the unzipping steps and follow methods 1 and 2 without unzipping the file.
As of June 2018, all presets on the site are formatted as .xmp files. Previously, presets were formatted as .lrtemplate files, but the latest updates to Adobe Lightroom and Camera Raw have resulted in a shift to the .xmp format.
There are two methods you can try in order to install your presets. If the first method doesn’t work, please revert to method 2.
First Method
Step 1. Download your .zip file purchased from the store (collection or single preset file).
Step 2. Unzip the file by double clicking it.
Step 3. Copy the file or files ending in .xmp
Step 4. Open a new finder window or click GO on the top menu bar of the finder application, and select “Home”.
Step 5. Navigate to your user name, then click through the following: LIBRARY > APPLICATION > SUPPORT > ADOBE > CAMERA RAW > SETTINGS
Step 6. Paste the presets into this folder
Step 7. Open or restart Lightroom if it’s already running. Your presets should be there!
Second Method
Step 1. With Lightroom Open, navigate to the develop module
Step 2. On the menu on the left side of the screen you’ll find your presets panel with a small “+” icon. Click on that!
